Elstead Kerry Single Chain Lantern - Black

A traditional lantern shape built for tougher conditions

The Kerry keeps the classic four sided lantern silhouette, tapering gently from a wide base up to a decorative cap, but swaps the usual cast metal for a black polymer body with clear polycarbonate panels. It hangs from a length of chain rather than sitting flush to a wall, so it works as a proper pendant over a porch or entrance.

The polymer finish is a deep, even black that keeps its colour and resists the pitting and corrosion that metal lanterns can suffer close to the coast, while the clear panels let the single lamp inside show through plainly rather than being diffused.

How it works

It takes one E27 lamp, dimmable if you choose a dimmable one, and the chain allows a little flexibility in drop so you can hang it at the right height for the porch or covered area it is going into.

Where it works best

Its impact resistant build was designed with coastal and seafront properties in mind, standing up to salt air and knocks that would age a painted metal lantern quickly, though it suits any covered porch or entrance where a traditional look with less maintenance is welcome.
