A cooler, simpler kind of lantern

The Hornbaek trades the fretwork and glazing bars of a traditional lantern for a plain glass cylinder held by three black rings, a cleaner Scandinavian shape for a wall light rather than a period reproduction.

Made from 304 grade stainless steel and finished with a black powder coating, chosen for durability rather than just looks, so the colour should hold up to weather rather than fade or flake.

How it works

Takes one E27 bulb, standing upright and fully visible inside the glass tube, mounted on a short arm that holds the lantern away from the wall. Class I wiring, dimmable if you fit a dimmable bulb.

Where it works best

IP44 rated for a porch, entrance, or garden wall with some shelter from direct rain. Its compact, upright shape suits modern facades and outbuildings better than a traditional porch.
