The Holborn is built like a miniature glass box, with slim brass glazing bars running around its top edge and four bevelled glass sides that let light spill out in every direction rather than just downward. Because it sits flush against the ceiling rather than dropping down on a stem, it works well anywhere headroom over a porch or path is limited.

Finished in Dark Bronze

This Dark Bronze finish has a deep, brushed warmth to it, closer to aged brass than a cold black or grey, and it darkens further at the edges and mouldings where the brass catches less light. Paired with the clear bevelled glass, it gives the fitting a lantern like presence during the day and a soft amber glow once the bulbs are lit.

How It Works

Two E27 lamp holders sit inside the glass box, spaced so that light reaches all four glazed sides rather than beaming straight down through the base. The fitting isn't supplied with bulbs, which means you can choose a filament style LED lamp to suit the exposed look of the glass, or a plainer bulb if you'd rather not see the filament at all. Fit dimmable bulbs and the Holborn will dim along with the rest of a dimmer circuit. As with any outdoor fitting wired directly into the mains, we'd always recommend having it installed by a qualified electrician.

Rated IP44, the Holborn is built to cope with a bit of weather, which makes it a natural fit for a covered porch, an entrance canopy or a run of steps under a roofline. Its square, symmetrical shape also reads well spaced along a covered walkway or terrace, where a row of identical fittings needs to look tidy rather than compete with each other.
