A larger lantern built to light the ground beneath it
The Hereford Window Grande is the biggest of the Hereford wall lanterns, hung well below a curled scroll bracket so its light is thrown straight down rather than out into the garden. The crossed window panes give it a slightly more cottage feel than a plain round lantern cage, and the extra size means it reads well on a taller porch or a more substantial entrance.
Black with seeded glass
The frame is die cast aluminium finished in a solid matte black, with a crossbar dividing each glass panel into four small window like panes rather than one plain cylinder. The glass itself is seeded, full of tiny trapped bubbles that catch and scatter the light once the bulb is on, rather than sitting flat and clear.
How It Works
A single E27 LED lamp holder sits inside the cage, with the bulb sold separately so you can choose your own wattage and colour temperature. Wiring is to Class I standard, meaning it needs an earthed supply, and fitting a dimmable bulb lets it run on a dimmer switch if you have one.
Where It Works Best
Its larger size and downward throw suit a bigger porch, an entrance with steps that need lighting, or a gateway where you want the light aimed at the ground rather than spread across the garden. It's rated IP43, which covers spraying water and driving rain reaching it at an angle, so it's best suited to a covered or sheltered spot rather than a wall with no overhang at all.
