Hereford takes the look of a traditional carriage lantern and mounts it rigidly to the ceiling on a short, fixed stem rather than a swinging chain. Under a porch roof that matters: there's no drift in the wind, no chain to catch on a doorframe, just a lantern that hangs exactly where it's fitted.

The scrollwork cage is cast in aluminium and finished in black, with a fluted clear glass cylinder set inside it. The scrolls wrap the glass on all sides rather than sitting flat against it, so the shadow they throw moves around the porch as the bulb inside lights up.

How It Works

A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the glass cylinder, visible through the scrollwork from every angle. The bulb isn't included, so you'll need to fit an E27 LED before use. Choose a dimmable one and Hereford will respond to a dimmer switch; fit a standard bulb and it works as a simple on and off fitting. Because the ceiling drop is fixed rather than adjustable, it's worth checking your porch ceiling height suits a 26cm drop before ordering.
