A lantern that hangs at the door
The Hereford chain lantern brings the same wrought scrollwork and glass cylinder as the rest of the range, but swaps a wall bracket for a length of chain, so the whole fitting drops from above rather than projecting out from a wall. It suits a covered porch or gateway where there is already a hook or beam to hang it from.
Black die cast aluminium
Cast in black die cast aluminium, the lantern pairs a peaked pyramid roof with a cylinder of clear glass wrapped in curling scrollwork. The black finish throws the pattern into sharp relief against the glass, so the silhouette reads clearly by day, then glows through the panels once the lamp inside is lit.
How It Works
A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the glass cylinder, and the fitting is designed to take an E27 LED bulb, which is not included. The chain above the roof lets you set the drop anywhere between 40.5cm and 50cm, so it can be adjusted to sit at the right height for your porch or entrance. Fit a dimmable LED bulb and it will work with a dimmer switch.
Where It Works Best
Hereford is built for covered outdoor spots with headroom overhead. That means porches, gateways and covered entrances where a fixing point already exists in a ceiling or beam, rather than open spots exposed directly to the weather.
