A lantern with a Scandinavian accent

The Helsingor takes its shape from harbour lanterns you might spot along the Danish coast: a tiered, pagoda style hood sitting over a cylinder of seeded glass. It has the kind of quiet, practical good looks that suit a working front door rather than a decorative one.

Finish

This one is finished in a flat black powder coat over 304 grade stainless steel, so the colour sits deep in the metal rather than on top of it. If you prefer something lighter, the same lantern is also available in a silver finish.

How it works

A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the glass, and the layered black louvres above it are there to do a job as well as look good, shielding the bulb from rain while still letting light spill out sideways. Choose a dimmable bulb and the fitting will dim happily alongside it.

Where it works best

Expect it to earn its keep on porches, boot room doors, garden walls and anywhere exposed to sea air, its stainless steel build with it in mind.
