A lantern that lights itself

The Helsingor PIR wall lantern pairs a traditional tiered canopy and glass cylinder shape with a motion sensor built into the wall plate, so it switches itself on the moment someone comes within range rather than waiting for a switch to be found in the dark. This silver version keeps the same silhouette as the rest of the Helsingor range in a cooler, lighter finish.

Stainless steel in silver

Built from 304 grade stainless steel and finished in silver, Helsingor has a softer, cooler look than the black version in the same range, and tends to sit well against render, stone or lighter brick. Three tiered shades stack above a clear glass cylinder held by vertical bars, letting the bulb's glow show through from every angle rather than being hidden behind a single flat panel.

How It Works

Takes a single E27 bulb, not included. A PIR sensor set into the round wall backplate below the arm detects movement nearby and switches the lantern on automatically, returning it to standby once the area is clear. Fit a dimmable bulb and it will also respond to a dimmer switch. Class I electrical rating.

Where It Works Best

Mounted beside a front or side door, at the top of a flight of steps, or above a garage, so the approach lights itself rather than needing to be found in the dark. Its IP44 rating means it's built to be mounted outdoors and cope with everyday rain and weather exposure.

Elstead Lighting

Helsingor comes from Elstead Lighting, a British decorative lighting group and distributor whose roots trace back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and which remains led by the Lucas family today. The same tiered lantern shape is also available in black, for a slightly darker, more traditional coach lantern look.
