Elstead Grampian Single Wall Lantern - Black

This version of the Grampian swaps the post for a wall mounted arm, complete with a scrolled cast bracket underneath that carries a bit of Victorian detail all on its own. The hexagonal lantern head sits at the end of the arm at a slight angle, finished with the same acorn finial and roof brackets as the rest of the range.

Black cast aluminium, clear glazing

Everything from the wall plate to the lantern roof is cast aluminium in a flat black, with clear glass panels rather than anything tinted, so the bulb inside is fully visible and throws light in every direction. A small door in the head gives access for wiring once it is up.

How it works

One bulb sits on a central holder inside the lantern, projecting about 49cm out from the wall and standing 82cm tall overall, so it throws light well clear of the wall itself rather than washing straight down the brickwork.

Where it works best

It works well either side of a front door, flanking a garage or outbuilding, or lighting a side passage where a full lamp post would not fit. The scrolled bracket reads best against plain render or brick rather than heavily textured stone, where the detail can get lost.
