Douille takes the working desk lamp and gives it real presence, holding a ribbed glass shade out and down on a curved arm so the light falls where you are working rather than up at the ceiling. It borrows its shape from old workshop and library lamps, resized here for a desk, console or bedside table.
Aged Brass finish
Base, stem, arm and lamp holder are all finished in Aged Brass, so the whole fitting reads as one warm, slightly weathered metal rather than a mix of separate parts. The shade above is ribbed glass, left open at the base so the vintage style bulb glows through the reeded texture instead of being hidden away.
How It Works
A single E27 bulb sits inside the exposed lamp holder at the end of the arm, and the fitting is wired as Class I. Choose a dimmable bulb and Douille responds to a dimmer switch, while a weighted round base keeps the whole thing stable on a desk or table top without needing to be fixed down.
Where It Works Best
The downward angled arm makes it a genuine task light for a home office desk, throwing light onto paperwork or a laptop rather than a flat glow across the ceiling. Is a bulb included with the Douille table lamp? No. It takes one E27 bulb, which isn't supplied, so choose a dimmable LED if you want to use it with a dimmer switch.
Can the arm or shade be adjusted? No, the curved arm is fixed, positioning the shade out and down over your desk or table so the light lands where you need it rather than up at the ceiling.
Is the Douille lamp dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable E27 bulb. Wired as a Class I fitting, it also needs a properly earthed plug socket.
