The one that swings gently rather than stands still

Hung on a chain from a simple ceiling rose, the Cleveland Single Small Chain Lantern moves slightly in a way no wall mounted fitting can. It is the smallest lantern in the Cleveland family, scaled for a porch or modest overhang rather than a grand entrance, with a turned finial at the base and a matching detail where the chain meets the fitting above.

The body is cast aluminium finished in weathered bronze, and the glass panels are clear seeded glass with the same bubbled texture found across the range, giving the light a slightly broken, handmade character rather than one hard beam.

How it works

A single lamp inside shines out through the seeded glass on every side, so light spreads around the porch rather than pointing in one direction. The chain can be adjusted from around 45cm up to 141cm, which makes it easy to hang the lantern at the right height whatever the ceiling.

Where it works best

Suited to a covered porch, an entrance canopy, or any sheltered spot under an overhang where a lantern can move slightly without taking the worst of the weather head on. Its smaller scale is better matched to a single front door than a wide porch needing several points of light.
