Elstead Chicago Single Small Wall Lantern - Textured Black

A compact lantern for a smaller doorway

This is the smaller of the two Chicago wall lanterns, built at the same scrolled arm design but scaled down for porches or door surrounds where a larger fitting would look heavy. The curved bracket carries the lantern out from the wall, with a ribbed crown and drop finial repeating the shape of its bigger sibling.

Textured black finish

Cast aluminium finished in textured black, glazed with clear seeded glass that has the small bubbles and slight ripple of old fashioned glazing rather than a smooth modern pane. At this smaller size the detail in the crown and scrollwork still comes through clearly.

How it works

A single E27 bulb sits inside the lantern case on a central bracket, lit from within so it shows through all four glass panels. It is a Class I fitting, so needs an earthed supply, and takes a dimmable bulb if you want variable light levels.

Where it works best

Suits narrower door surrounds, porch pillars, or anywhere a full size lantern would crowd the space, while still giving the same scrolled arm and lantern silhouette as the rest of the range. Two either side of a smaller front door keep things in proportion.
