Chelsfield's base is a rounded ceramic form, glazed in a soft pale green that fades down into snow white towards the foot, with the kind of mottled, slightly uneven glaze you get on studio pottery rather than a flat factory finish. It sits under a wide white drum shade, topped off with a slim polished nickel finial.

Colourway and shade

The white shade is made from a textured, linen look fabric that reads as soft and matte rather than glossy, letting the glaze on the base do the visual work while still giving a generous spread of light across a room.

How it works

Chelsfield is built around a single E27 LED bulb, not included, hidden inside the drum shade, giving a broad, even glow rather than a tight pool of light, well suited to general ambient lighting rather than close up reading. Fit a dimmable bulb and it will respond to a compatible dimmer switch.

Where it works best

At just over 60cm tall with a 36cm wide shade, Chelsfield has enough presence for a console table, sideboard or the corner of a living room, and works equally well on a substantial bedside table or dining room console if there's room for its wider ceramic base.

Is a bulb included with the Chelsfield table lamp? No, it takes a single E27 LED bulb which is sold separately, so you can choose your preferred brightness and colour temperature.

Can the Chelsfield lamp be dimmed? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable E27 bulb and use it with a compatible dimmer switch. A non dimmable bulb will not dim even on a dimmer circuit.

Will my lamp base look exactly like the product photos? Because the glaze is a reactive finish rather than a single flat colour, expect gentle variation in the mottling and the blend between green and white from one base to the next.
