The Chawton Medium Picture Light carries a shorter aged brass bar than its large sibling, sized to sit above a single medium sized painting, print or photograph without dwarfing it. Two adjustable arms hold the shade forward of the wall, aiming light down onto the piece rather than out into the room.

An aged brass finish with real depth

Every part, from the rectangular shade to the twin knuckle joints and wall backplate, is finished in aged brass. The tone sits somewhere between antique gold and warm bronze, with a soft brushed texture rather than a mirror shine, so the fitting reads as an established piece of hardware rather than something fresh out of the box.

How it works

Two E14 lamp holders sit inside the shade, and two knuckle joints on the mounting arms let you angle the bar down onto the picture or back towards the wall after it's fitted. Pair it with dimmable bulbs on a dimmer switch and you can take the light from a soft wash to a brighter level over the artwork.

Can I angle the light after it's fitted? Yes. Two knuckle joints on the mounting arms let you tilt the bar down onto the picture or back towards the wall, so you can adjust the angle after installation rather than getting it right first time.

Are bulbs included with this light? No. The Chawton Medium takes two E14 bulbs, which aren't supplied, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that suits your artwork.

Is the Chawton Medium dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable E14 bulbs. Non dimmable bulbs won't dim even on a dimmer switch circuit.
