At 65.3cm long, this is the largest of the three Chawton picture light sizes, and in polished brass it throws a wide, mirror bright bar of light across a big canvas or an oversized mirror. It's built to sit above artwork that would dwarf the smaller sizes in the range.

A full polish brass finish

The bar, both arms and the wall plate share the same high polish brass plating over a mild steel body, so the whole fitting reads as one continuous gleam rather than several separate parts bolted together. Look closely at the bar and you'll see its edges are gently faceted rather than a plain rounded tube, with a slim strip along the underside where the light actually escapes.

How it works

Two knuckle joints, one on each arm, let you adjust the angle after the light is fixed to the wall: tilt the bar down onto the picture below or pull it back closer to the wall if you want a flatter profile. It takes four E14 LED lamp holders, which aren't supplied, so you can choose the warmth and brightness of bulb yourself, and fit dimmable bulbs if you want it to work with a dimmer switch.

A bar this size suits a large canvas, an oversized mirror or a formal gallery style arrangement of several frames, somewhere like a living room, dining room, hallway or home office. It works especially well where other brass hardware, such as door furniture or curtain poles, is already in the room, since the fitting adds another point of matching brass rather than a competing metal.
