A chandelier with a lighter touch
The Chartwell 3 Light Chandelier hangs on a chain rather than sitting flush to the ceiling, with three scrolled arms curving out from a central column, each ending in an ivory candle tube. Wire bound joints and small forged hooks are left visible at the base of every arm rather than smoothed away, giving the whole piece a hand worked, traditional character.
Black finish
Finished in a deep matte black, the steel frame lets the ivory candle tube sleeves and scrolled arm ends stand out rather than competing for attention. It is a straightforward, versatile finish that suits both traditional rooms and more pared back interiors alike.
How It Works
Three E14 candle bulbs sit upright in the ivory sleeves, and the chandelier will respond to a dimmer switch if fitted with dimmable lamps. It hangs on an adjustable chain, so the drop can be shortened or lengthened to suit your ceiling height, and it can also be fitted close to the ceiling as a semi flush light instead, if that suits the room better. Bulbs are not included.
Where It Works Best
Its scale and scrollwork suit dining rooms, hallways and living rooms where you want a pendant with some presence but not a large drum shade, and it works just as well over a bedroom ceiling that could do with something more characterful than a plain flush light.
Elstead Lighting
Chartwell is part of the Elstead Lighting collection, a British lighting group whose roots trace back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and which remains led by the Lucas family today. Can I adjust how low this chandelier hangs? Yes. It hangs on an adjustable chain that can be shortened or lengthened to give a drop anywhere between 48cm and 110.5cm, and it can also be fitted close to the ceiling as a semi flush light if you would rather not have it on the chain.
Are bulbs included with the Chartwell chandelier? No. It takes three E14 bulbs, which are not included, so you will need to fit your own before use.
Is the Chartwell chandelier dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable E14 bulbs. A non dimmable bulb will not respond to a dimmer switch even on a compatible circuit.
