A traditional lantern that faces the world
The Chapel single wall lantern has the kind of shape most people recognise on sight: a tapered, hexagonal glass head topped with a small finial, mounted on a curved arm that lifts it up and away from the wall. It is an old form done well, with crisp lines rather than fussy scrollwork, so it reads as at home on a cottage as it does on a new build.
This one is finished in black, cast in die cast aluminium with clear glazed panels on every side, so light spreads outward in all directions instead of pooling behind frosted glass. The black finish has a slightly textured, matt look rather than a glossy sheen, and it carries through to the decorative wall bracket and fixing plate.
How it works
It takes a single E27 bulb, mounted upright inside the lantern head, and will dim if you fit dimmable lamps. The bracket fixes flat to the wall and holds the lantern proud of the surface, angled outward rather than sitting tight against the brickwork.
Where it works best
Either side of a front door, on a porch, flanking a garage, or along a garden wall or gatepost, anywhere you want a light that reads as a proper fitting rather than a bare bulkhead.
