A Lamp Post Scaled Down, Not Watered Down

Chapel Mini's pillar lantern takes the look of a full size Victorian lamp post and brings it down to a size that suits an ordinary front garden rather than a country drive. The squared lantern head, topped with a pointed finial, sits at the top of a slender full length post, so it reads as a proper standing lamp rather than a low marker light.

Black Cast Aluminium And Clear Glass

The post and lantern head are cast in die cast aluminium and finished in a flat matte black, with clear glass panes set into all four sides of the head so light spreads outward in every direction rather than down in a single beam. The finial cap and moulded base both carry the stepped, faceted detailing you would expect from a traditional gas lamp, recreated here in a hardwearing cast finish.

How It Works

A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the lantern head, positioning the bulb at the top of the post so light falls outward at around head height rather than straight down at your feet. The bulb itself is not included, so fit an E27 LED bulb to get it working, and choose a dimmable one if you want the post to run from a dimmer switch. The whole fitting is fixed to a base plate rather than hung or wall mounted, so it needs a solid, level surface to sit on.

Standing 94cm tall, it is built for a driveway entrance, either side of a gate, or spaced along a boundary wall or path, standing in as a proper lamp post rather than a low path light. It is rated IP44, so it is built to stay outdoors full time, rain included.
