A wall lantern that lights the step, not the sky
The Chapel Mini Single Down Wall Lantern hangs from a shaped bracket with its light thrown downward, casting a pool onto the path or step below rather than up the brickwork above. A pointed finial tops the housing, and four flat panes of clear glass wrap the lamp compartment beneath it.
Black Finish
This version is finished in a flat matte black, with the die cast aluminium panels, glazing bars and finials cast as one piece rather than added as separate trim. Clear glass is fitted to all four sides, so the lamp itself stays visible from the path rather than hidden behind an opaque diffuser.
How It Works
A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the housing; we recommend an LED lamp for this fitting, though a bulb is not supplied. As a wall bracket rather than a chain lantern, there is no drop to adjust, just a fixed arm that holds the lantern clear of the wall. Wire it to a dimmer switch and fit a dimmable bulb and it will dim in the same way.
Where It Works Best
Because the light is thrown down rather than out, this lantern suits a spot either side of a front door, along a porch wall or flanking a garage entrance, anywhere you want the ground lit rather than the wall itself. It is the wall mounted, down facing member of the Chapel Mini range, so it can be paired with the matching pillar, pedestal or up facing wall lantern from the same collection if you are lighting several points around a house.

Chapel Mini is part of the Elstead Lighting collection, a British decorative lighting group and distributor whose history traces back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and which remains led by the same Lucas family today. Does the Chapel Mini Single Down Wall Lantern come with a bulb? No. It takes a single E27 lamp, and we recommend an LED, but a bulb is not included.
Can I dim this lantern? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable E27 bulb and wire it to a dimmer switch. A standard, non dimmable bulb will not dim on its own.
