The full sweep of Carisbrooke, at its grandest
Eighteen arms fan out across three cascading tiers beneath a tall black column, each one strung with looping wire garlands that give the whole piece its candelabra silhouette. It's the largest fitting in the Carisbrooke collection, built for a room with the ceiling height and floor space to let it spread out properly.
Finish
The frame is black mild steel throughout, finished in a deep matte black that keeps the ironwork looking substantial rather than shiny. Ivory candle tubes sit at the top of each of the eighteen arms, so the warm light reads clearly against the dark metalwork instead of blending into it.
How it works
The eighteen E14 fittings are staggered across tiers of different heights, which is what makes the arms overlap and layer rather than sitting in one flat ring. Bulbs aren't included, so you can choose a warm white LED to suit the room, and the chandelier will dim on a compatible dimmer switch as long as dimmable bulbs are fitted. The chain allows the drop to be adjusted from around 137cm up to 425cm, so it can be hung to suit anything from a standard high ceiling to a genuine double height space.
Where it works best
At 143cm across and 129cm tall, this needs real ceiling height and clear floor space beneath it, think a vaulted hallway, the top of a grand staircase, or a large open dining room where it's the first thing people see on walking in. It suits a living room, dining room or hallway, and its scale makes it best suited to a genuinely large space rather than a standard sized room.

This 18 light chandelier is the largest piece in the Carisbrooke collection, built on the same Gothic, wire strung candelabra shape as the smaller chandeliers and wall lights in the range, just scaled up considerably. Carisbrooke is part of Elstead Lighting's wider catalogue, a British lighting group and distributor whose roots trace back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and which remains led by the Lucas family today.
