A gothic silhouette, cast in black
Twelve slender arms sweep outward from a tall central column, each one traced by hand bound wire drapes that loop and curve like something drawn from a candlelit country house hall. Rendered in matte black, the effect is bold and architectural rather than fussy.
Finish
Finished in black mild steel from the ceiling rose down to every arm, with pale candle tubes at each holder giving the dark frame a point of contrast instead of leaving it flat and stark.
How it works
The twelve E14 fittings sit across two tiers, a lower outer ring and a shorter inner ring closer to the column, echoing the branching look of a real candelabra. The chain allows the drop to be adjusted from around 86.5cm up to 280cm, so it can be hung to suit anything from a standard ceiling to a stairwell or double height hall.
Where it works best
At almost a metre across, this is a fitting for a room with room to spare, a generous dining table, a wide hallway or a living room where the ceiling height allows it to hang low enough to be seen and enjoyed rather than crowding the plaster.
