When There's No Room for a Post

Some entrances do not have space for a light standing on its own base, and that is where the wall mounted Bayview earns its place. It carries the same lantern styling as the rest of the range on a decorative scroll bracket, fixing directly above a door or beside a gate rather than rising from the ground.

Black Cast Aluminium and Bevelled Glass

The lantern is glazed on four sides with clear bevelled glass, held in a black cast aluminium frame with a domed top and a small ball finial. The scroll bracket carrying it out from the wall curls back on itself rather than running in a straight line, giving the fitting some presence before the glass even catches any light.

How It Works

Fit one E27 LED bulb, not included, and it lights from a central point inside the lantern, sending light out through the glass on every side rather than in a single direction. Wired for mains use, it will dim if fitted with a dimmable bulb, and as an outdoor fitting it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where It Works Best

A front door, a side entrance, or either side of a porch are the natural spots for the medium Bayview, anywhere a light needs to stay fixed to the wall rather than stand on the ground. Its IP44 rating means it copes well with rain and passing weather, so it can be used confidently in an open porch or an exposed spot by a gate.

Elstead Lighting

Bayview is part of the Elstead Lighting collection, a British decorative lighting group and distributor whose roots trace back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and which remains led by the same Lucas family today. The same scroll bracket and lantern detailing also appear on a smaller wall lantern and on pedestal and pillar versions in the range, so the same style can run around a house at different scales.
