Light that stands proud of the wall
Instead of sitting flat against a backplate, this fitting carries its shade forward on an angled arm, so it has a bit of shadow and dimension to it even before it's switched on. It's a small light, but that projecting arm keeps it from reading as a plain bracket fitting.
White and polished nickel
The circular backplate and arm are painted white, with polished nickel showing at the elbow of the arm and again in the collar just above the shade. The white fabric shade is lined in silver, so once lit it throws a cool, bright glow from underneath rather than a golden one.
How it works
It takes a single E27 lamp, dimmable if you use dimmable bulbs, and is wired to Class I standard. Overall it stands 23.7cm tall and reaches 26cm out from the wall, with a 16cm shade, so leave a little room around it when planning where it goes.
Where it works best
A pair either side of a bed frees up the nightstands completely, and the same idea works either side of a hallway mirror, spaced along a dining room wall to add light without more pendants overhead, or fitted singly to brighten a landing.
Built to match
The white and nickel finish continues through the Balance pendant and table lamp, so this wall light can anchor a scheme or simply finish one already started. Elstead has been making traditional and transitional lighting from Hampshire for a long time.
