The Ascent floor lamp reduces a traditional torchiere down to one clean idea: a tall tapered column rising to a fine point, topped with a wide drum shade. Polished until it mirrors the room around it, the column catches whatever colour and light surrounds it, whether that's a plain wall or a room full of pattern.

Polished Nickel, Top to Base

Mild steel is finished in polished nickel across the full length of the tapered column, from the slim neck under the shade down to the wide, sturdy square base. A dark grey faux silk shade sits on top, its soft striated texture a quiet contrast to the smooth, reflective metal below.

How It Works

A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the shade, running off a Class I fitting with a floor switch on the cable. Fit a dimmable E27 LED bulb and the light can be brought down low for the evening rather than left at full brightness; the bulb itself isn't included, so you can choose the exact colour temperature you want.

At 180cm tall, the Ascent wants a proper gap around it rather than a corner to hide in. It reads well beside an armchair, at the end of a sofa, or filling an awkward gap next to a bookcase, anywhere a floor lamp needs to hold its own as a piece of furniture rather than disappear into the background.
