A tall, tapering floor lamp in mirror polished nickel topped with a black faux silk shade. A striking, minimal silhouette that works as well as a standalone design piece as it does a light source.

A clean geometric silhouette
Ascent is built around a single idea: a tall, tapering column that narrows steadily from a wide base up to the shade, with no arms, joints or extra detailing to distract from the shape. Standing at around 180cm, it reads as a piece of furniture as much as a light.
Polished nickel with a black shade
The column is finished in a mirror polished nickel that gives it a bright, reflective presence quite different from a painted or brushed metal. It's topped with a black faux silk shade with a subtle streaked texture, which grounds the shine below it and keeps the light it casts warm rather than clinical.
How It Works
Ascent takes a single E27 bulb inside the shade. We'd recommend an LED, and it isn't supplied, so you can choose the warmth and brightness that suits the room. Fit a dimmable bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch and the light can be taken down to a low glow as well as up to full brightness.
Where It Works Best
The reflective column works best in a room that already has other metallics on show, brass door furniture, a mirrored console, chrome tap ware, rather than standing alone. Its height and slim footprint make it a good choice for filling an empty corner or standing beside a chair without needing floor space for a wide base, and it suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways alike.
Elstead Lighting
Elstead is a British decorative lighting group and distributor whose roots trace back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire; the business remains led by the Lucas family today. Across the range, the focus stays on considered, well finished pieces like Ascent rather than passing trends.
