A pair of candle arms with a gilded leaf at the centre
The Amarilli 2 Light Wall Light pairs two scrolled arms, each finished with a crystal drip pan and a hanging glass drop, with an oak leaf motif rising from an oval backplate between them. It is a compact fitting, but the ironwork and gilded detailing give it more presence than its size suggests.
Bronze and gold together
The scrolled arms and oval backplate are finished in a deep, almost black bronze, while the oak leaf motif at the centre and the candle sleeves on each arm are picked out in a warmer gold, so the two tones play off each other rather than reading as one flat colour.
How It Works
Two E14 lamp holders sit openly on the scrolled arms, each dressed with a faceted crystal drip pan beneath the candle sleeve and a glass drop hanging from the leaf detailing. Elstead specifies an LED E14 bulb for this fitting, which is not supplied, and it will dim if fitted with dimmable bulbs. As a wall light it fixes flat to the wall, with no chain or drop to set at installation.
Where It Works Best
Its traditional scrollwork suits period and country style rooms particularly well, either side of a fireplace or mirror, or spaced along a landing or staircase wall where a softer, more decorative light works better than an overhead fitting. Living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways all suit its scale.
Elstead Lighting
Amarilli comes from Elstead Lighting, a British decorative lighting group and distributor whose roots trace back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and which remains led by the Lucas family today. The scrollwork and oak leaf detailing on this wall light are shared with larger pendants and chandeliers in the same Amarilli range, so the design can be carried through a room at more than one scale.
