Elstead Alton Single Small LED Picture Light - Brushed Nickel

Hallway art, a cluster of prints on a stair wall, a single large canvas over a sideboard, all of it depends on light that's aimed at the picture rather than just spilling into the room. That's the whole idea behind the Alton picture light.

Brushed nickel

Here the fitting comes in a cool, brushed nickel with a matte, pewter look finish, well suited to rooms with black or steel toned metalwork. The design stays the same as the rest of the range: a round wall plate, a curved arm, and a slim bar that sits just above the frame.

Getting the light right

A 6W LED is built into the bar, producing 318 lumens of warm 3000K light angled down onto whatever hangs beneath it. It isn't dimmable, so expect one brightness level, switched on at the wall or via an in line switch.

Where to hang it

Living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and studies all work well for this kind of fitting, mounted centrally above a frame or spaced along a run of smaller pictures.

It's one of four finish options in the Alton range, alongside brushed brass, polished chrome and white, so it's easy to match to whatever ironmongery or lighting is already in place elsewhere in the room.
