Elstead Alton Single Small LED Picture Light - Black

A quiet accent for smaller pieces

Not every frame needs a full length bar running the width of it. This smaller Alton is scaled down for a single small to medium piece, a slim black tube mounted on a curved arm that stays low profile enough to read as a detail rather than a fixture in its own right.

Matte black finish

The steel backplate, arm and light bar are all finished in a flat matte black, so the fitting holds its line against most wall colours without competing with whatever is hanging beneath it. At this shorter length it sits neatly above a single frame without light spilling out past the edges.

How It Works

A 6W LED strip is built into the underside of the bar, giving an even, warm 3000K wash over the piece below rather than a single bright point. The arm hinges out from the wall and the head pivots on its own, so the beam can be angled onto the artwork rather than the wall around it. It is hardwired as a Class I mains fitting rather than plugged in, so it should be connected by a qualified electrician, and there is no dimmer function on this version, it runs at a fixed brightness.

Where It Works Best

At just under 39cm wide, this is the size for a single small to medium frame, a photograph, a certificate or a smaller print, rather than a large canvas. It suits a hallway, home office, living room or dining room, anywhere a single piece or a small grouping needs its own light without the fitting becoming a statement in itself.

Can the bulb in this picture light be replaced? No. The LED strip is integrated into the light bar rather than a separate replaceable bulb, so the whole bar is the light source.

Is this picture light dimmable? No, this version is not compatible with dimmer switches and runs at a fixed brightness.

Do I need an electrician to fit this light? Yes. It is hardwired directly into the mains as a Class I fitting rather than plugged in, so we recommend a qualified electrician installs it.
