A shade that faces up, not down
Unlike most of the Alderley range, this fitting hangs with its wide square shade turned upwards, so the glass becomes the main event as soon as you walk into the room rather than something you only notice once it's lit.
A rigid rod, not a chain
Instead of the chain suspension you'll see on other Alderley pendants, this one hangs from a solid rod finished in Vintage Bronze, which can also be shortened to sit almost flush against the ceiling if you'd rather not have it hang low.
How it works
From the centre of the shade, bands of aqua and textured clear glass fan outwards like a burst of light, surrounded by pale ivory panels. With the shade facing up, the two E27 bulbs cast their light onto the ceiling first, giving a softer, more diffused glow than a downward facing shade would.
Where it works best
Good for rooms with lower ceilings where a hanging pendant might feel too low, or anywhere you want ambient light bounced off the ceiling rather than a direct pool of light below.
