Its tapered square shape, 13cm across the top widening to 25.5cm at the base, cuts a sharp silhouette that flatters both classic and contemporary lamp bases.

The Contessa range is fabric lined throughout, so the inside of the shade looks as good as the outside and the light is directed in a soft, controlled wash above and below.

This is a shade only, supplied with a reducer ring so it fits standard fittings as well as 22mm lamp holders. Try it on a console lamp in a hallway, a bedside lamp or a reading lamp in the living room, wherever a little understated drama would be welcome.
