Think of this purple hexagon as the finishing layer rather than the fitting itself, there is no wiring involved on this piece at all. Before it can go on the ceiling you need the Diyas IL30800 lampholder and retaining ring kit, sold separately, which does the electrical work and grips the crystal rim once it is pressed into place; an adapter is not needed alongside it. Many customers fit the IL30800 housing early in a refit and save this coloured rim for the very end, clicking it in once painting and plastering are out of the way.
