Is this lamp stable enough with so little floor footprint?
Yes. The base is weighted and designed for stability, so it will not wobble once positioned. That said, it should not be placed in an area where it might get knocked over by traffic.

Do all eleven bulbs have to be used?
No. You can install bulbs in as many or as few of the holders as you like, allowing you to adjust the light level or create different effects.

What happens if I want different heights?
Once installed, the height is fixed. However, you can angle the lamp if needed, and the adjustable drop range on pendant versions gives you more flexibility if a hanging option appeals to you more.
