A statement jewel for the ceiling
The Harlow pendant takes the same design language as its wall mounted sibling and scales it up into a genuine statement piece. A wide drum shade in soft ivory fabric hangs from a tapering crystal rod, with a matching crystal finial dropping from the centre of the shade below. At 66cm across, the shade is considerably larger and more dramatic in scale than the matching wall sconce, so it reads as the centrepiece of a room rather than a supporting light.
Tranquility silver leaf finish
The tranquility silver leaf finish appears as a warm, champagne toned metal leaf running along the top and bottom edges of the shade, framing the ivory fabric drum and clear faceted crystal above and below it. It has a softer warmth than a plain silver finish, which helps the fixture feel inviting rather than cold when it hangs somewhere prominent.
How it works
Six E14 candelabra bulbs sit within the fixture (bulbs not included). The shade measures approximately 66cm across, with an overall fixture height of 91cm, and the pendant can be hung with a drop of roughly 110cm up to 217cm, so it can be adjusted to suit different ceiling heights.
Where it works best
Given its scale and six light output, the Harlow pendant is built for a ceiling statement rather than a quiet fill light, over a dining table, in a double height entrance hall, or above a staircase where it can be seen and appreciated from more than one angle. Allow generous clearance on each side, given the width of the shade.
About Corbett
Corbett Lighting has spent more than four decades designing bold, sculptural fixtures, the kind of pieces its own fans have called sophisticated-chic and jewellery-like rather than merely decorative. The brand is one part of Hudson Valley Lighting Group, alongside Mitzi and Troy Lighting, a family owned business whose history began in 1939 with Brooklyn inventor William Littman, who came away from that year's New York World's Fair fascinated by the fluorescent lighting on display. That fascination echoed down the generations: his grandson David Littman went on to establish Hudson Valley Lighting Group in the 1980s.
