A Green Label That Points People Up And Out
This is the arrow up legend for Collingwood's Salvus Emergency Exit Box, sold on its own as a printed PVC label rather than as a complete sign. The exit box is the electrical part. The legend is the graphic that sits on its illuminated face and tells anyone looking at it which way the escape route goes. Buying the legend separately lets an installer set the direction of travel on site, and change it later if a building is reconfigured, without touching the fitting itself.
The Arrow Up Legend In Green PVC
The graphic is the familiar green and white running man beside a solid arrow pointing straight up. Green is the safe condition colour used throughout escape route signage, so this legend reads consistently alongside every other exit sign in the building. How It Works
What arrives is the label. There is no light source, no battery and no wiring in this part, because all of that lives in the Salvus Emergency Exit Box it goes onto. The label is applied to the illuminated face of the box so the LEDs behind it backlight the graphic. Collingwood prints it in line with ISO 3864-1, the international standard that governs the shape and colour of safety signs, and the company is a member of ICEL, the UK industry body for emergency lighting. The host fitting is the wall mounted Salvus Emergency Exit Box, model EMBX35M, which Collingwood rates for a 35m viewing distance and wires in maintained or non maintained modes through push fit terminals.

Anywhere the escape route carries straight on or heads up a flight of stairs. It is also the legend to order when an existing Salvus box was fitted pointing the wrong way, or when a refit has changed which direction people should be sent. Because it is only the label, it is worth holding a few spare directions with the maintenance stores so a route can be corrected quickly after a change of layout.
