Fit a New Downlight Without Patching the Ceiling
Swap an old downlight for a new Collingwood H2 Pro, H4 Pro or H2 Lite and you'll often find the new fitting's cutout is smaller than the hole already in your ceiling. This 110mm converter plate covers that gap, hiding cutouts up to 110mm across so you're not left filling plasterboard and repainting just to fit a smaller downlight. It clips onto the spring clips already built into the downlight, so there's no extra fixing hardware to buy.
Six Finishes to Match Your Downlight
The plate comes in black, brushed steel, chrome, gloss white, matt white and polished gold, colour matched to Collingwood's own bezel finishes so the join between plate and downlight all but disappears once it's fitted. It's made from mild steel and sits flush against the ceiling, with a slim profile that reads as part of the fitting rather than a repair job.
How It Works
The plate slips over the downlight's body before the fitting is pushed up into the ceiling, using the same spring clips that hold the downlight in place on its own. Its outer edge covers cutouts up to 110mm across, while the inner opening is sized for the 72 to 95mm cutout used by the H2 Pro, H4 Pro and H2 Lite range, so the downlight still seats and locks in the usual way.
Where It Works Best
Reach for this plate when you're upgrading from an older, larger downlight to one of Collingwood's smaller H2 Pro, H4 Pro or H2 Lite fittings, and the existing ceiling hole is bigger than the new cutout needs. It saves cutting plasterboard back or skimming and repainting around an oversized hole, which matters most in kitchens, hallways and living rooms where a patched ceiling would be obvious. A smaller 70mm version, the DLCONVERT70, is also available for jobs where the existing hole is closer to that size.
Collingwood Lighting: Engineered to Fit
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED products from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has specialised in LED technology since 2002. Accessories like this converter plate are part of how the brand keeps an installation looking finished long after the original downlight went in, rather than leaving installers to improvise a fix on site. Collingwood states it was among the first to bring fire rated, fully sealed for life and mains dimmable LED products to the UK electrical wholesale market, and it has been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
- Will this plate fit any Collingwood downlight? It's designed for the H2 Pro, H4 Pro and H2 Lite range, which share a 72 to 95mm cutout. Check your fitting's cutout size before ordering.
- What size ceiling hole does this plate cover? It covers cutouts up to 110mm in diameter, matching the plate's own outer diameter.
- Does the downlight still fit and lock in the same way once the plate is in place? Yes. The plate uses the same spring clips already built into the downlight, so it seats and locks against the ceiling exactly as it would without the plate.
- Is the downlight included with this plate? No. Downlights are sold separately, this plate is an accessory for fitting one into a larger existing hole.
- What if my existing ceiling hole is smaller than 110mm? Collingwood also makes a 70mm version, the DLCONVERT70, for smaller existing holes.
