Silvery Brightness Softened by Warm Glass
This Cedar pendant spans 250cm with thirteen individual light sources, paired with cognac sculpted glass that filters the brightness into warm amber tones. The polished nickel frame catches and reflects light, creating visual interest alongside the functional light from the bulbs themselves. It's a sophisticated combination that works in contemporary kitchens, formal dining rooms, or anywhere you want brightness with an elegant, reflective frame.
Choosing Your Finish
Polished nickel has a silvery, refined finish that sits between the warmth of brass and the minimalism of matte black. It reflects light and adds shine without feeling ostentatious. The cognac glass warms the light passing through it, softening what could otherwise feel cold. Together they balance each other: the nickel provides visual interest and the glass provides warmth. The Cedar is available across all three frame colours if you'd prefer a warmer brass or quieter black finish instead.
How It Works
Thirteen E14 lamp holders run the length of the pendant, each taking up to 20W per bulb. The fitting is Class I, requiring an earth connection as part of the installation. It's fully dimmable with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer, so you can adjust the light from bright and energetic to soft and ambient on the same circuit.
Where It Works Best
The reflective nickel makes this particularly good in spaces where you want light to bounce around and fill the room: high ceilinged kitchens, open plan living areas with lots of wall and ceiling surface, or formal dining rooms where you want the fitting to be a design feature. The pendant works equally well hung low over a dining table or higher up where it casts light more broadly across the space.
Design Details
The Cedar range uses a simple, linear approach that lets the materials and handcrafted detailing speak for themselves. The polished nickel frame is solid and substantial, while each cognac glass shade is mouth blown and individually finished. That handmade quality means light refracts slightly differently through each shade, giving the whole fitting a living, considered aesthetic rather than mass produced uniformity.

Questions People Ask
Does polished nickel tarnish?
Not in the way sterling silver does, but polished finishes can show fingerprints or dust over time. This is part of their character. A gentle wipe with a soft cloth keeps it looking fresh. Some people love the developed patina that comes with age.
How does cognac glass look with a shiny frame?
The combination is elegant and balanced. The warm amber of the cognac glass softens what could feel too brightly reflective about the polished nickel on its own. The two materials work together visually, each tempering the other.
Can I mix and match finishes in the same room?
Absolutely. Mixing brass, nickel, and black metalwork is a very contemporary approach, and this Cedar pendant sits comfortably alongside other metals. The cognac glass helps tie it all together because the warm light sits well regardless of which frame colour is nearby.
