A More Shadowed Kind of Glow
Soft and moody rather than bright and airy, this 250cm linear pendant lets you flood a long table with generous light that doesn't feel harsh. Thirteen E14 bulb holders are threaded through smoked sculpted glass shades set into a brass frame. The smoked glass acts as a diffuser, filtering the light to something warmer and more intimate. It's the same architectural presence as a clear glass version, but with a completely different feeling once the lights go up.
Choosing Your Finish
Smoked glass here has real depth to it, appearing almost charcoal under certain light and becoming more translucent once the bulbs are switched on. Combined with the soft brass frame, the effect is understated and sophisticated. The Cedar pendant also comes in other glass tones if smoked isn't quite what you're after.
How It Works
The pendant wiring meets Class I electrical standards throughout, meaning it requires a proper earth connection during installation. It's an indoor fitting designed for dry environments only. The 250cm length can be adjusted so the pendant sits between 50cm and 250cm below your ceiling, allowing you to tune how much visual impact the fitting has in your space.
Where It Works Best
This works beautifully as the centrepiece above a dining table or kitchen island where you want to gather people without feeling under stage lights. The smoked glass makes it equally suitable for more contemporary interiors and more traditional settings where a slightly moodier atmosphere suits the room's character.
Design Details
The Cedar's strength lies in how the sculpted glass shades do the real work of light distribution. Each shade is fluted and detailed in a way that catches and softens the light emission without needing any additional reflector or diffuser. The smoked version introduces an extra layer of visual interest: the glass isn't uniform grey, but has variation in tone and depth that shifts as you move around the room and as daylight and bulb light hit it differently throughout the day.

Questions People Ask
Does smoked glass make the room darker?
Not really. The glass filters the light but doesn't drastically reduce it. What it does do is spread and soften the light so it feels less directional and more enveloping. Think of it as a change in the quality of light rather than the quantity.
Can I use a lower wattage bulb to make it brighter?
The fitting is rated for E14 bulbs at a maximum of 20W each, so you should stay within that limit. If you want more brightness overall, you'd be better served using brighter (higher lumens per watt) dimmable LED bulbs, which also run cooler than older incandescent types.
Will it be too dominant a fixture for my room?
At 250cm it certainly makes a statement, but much of that is shape rather than glare. The smoked glass takes down the visual intensity compared to clear, so it can work even in rooms that feel slightly more intimate or traditional in style.
