Three Points of Light, One Sculptural Bar
Cala takes its cue from the pan flute, lining up three slim cylindrical tubes at staggered heights across a single rectangular backplate. Each tube throws light both up and down, so the Gold finish reads as a row of gently glowing rods rather than a conventional wall bracket, a quiet piece of sculpture that happens to also light the room.
A Warm Gold That Works With Brass and Timber
This listing is the Gold version of Cala, a brushed warm gold tone that pairs naturally with brass door furniture, oak and walnut tones, and warmer neutral wall colours. If your scheme leans darker or more industrial, the same design is also sold as a separate Rust Brown listing. Because each finish is its own product rather than a variant option, check you have selected Gold before ordering if you are matching to an existing Cala pendant or wall light elsewhere in the room.
How It Works
Cala's three tubes carry integrated LED modules that light from both ends, six 6W sources in total for a combined 36W output and around 2520 lumens. Colour temperature sits at a warm 3000K, close to traditional halogen, with a CRI above 80 for reasonably faithful colour rendering of skin tones and furnishings. This fixture is not dimmable and the position of the tubes is fixed rather than adjustable, so it is best chosen when you are happy with a fixed, ambient wash of light rather than a directional reading light. Wiring is Class I, meaning the fitting must be connected to earth as part of a competent installation.
Where It Works Best
At 28cm high and 30cm wide with a shallow 6.6cm projection, Cala Gold sits close to the wall, which makes it a good fit for hallways and stairwells where you do not want a light intruding into the walking space. It also works well as a pair either side of a dining room mirror or console, as a soft accent above a kitchen breakfast bar, or as low level bedside lighting where you want gentle ambience rather than a task light. Because the tubes are fixed rather than aimed, it suits rooms where the light is meant to be seen and enjoyed as a feature, rather than pointed at a specific surface.
Made By Mantra
Mantra was founded in Valencia in 2000 around a simple idea, that good design should not need a luxury price tag. Twenty five years on, the brand has grown from a Spanish and neighbouring European proposition into a company selling across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, which is a useful thing to know if you are wondering whether Cala is a fly by night, online only label. It is not. Mantra keeps an internal design team and also commissions named outside designers, including Jose Ignacio Ballester, whose work with the brand dates back to 2007, and Hugo Tejada, whose organic Organica range has been one of Mantra's better sellers since 2016. That combination, an internal studio plus independent design talent, is part of why Mantra's ranges tend to hold a coherent, considered look across pendants, wall lights and floor lamps rather than feeling like a catalogue of unrelated fittings sold under one badge.

Questions People Ask
Is the Cala Gold wall light dimmable?
No. It runs at a fixed output, so it is best suited to rooms where you want a constant, ambient level of light rather than mood dimming.
Can I fit this in a bathroom?
No. It carries an IP20 rating, which is intended for dry indoor rooms only, so it is not suitable for bathrooms or other humid or splash prone spaces.
Can I change the bulbs later if one fails?
The LEDs are integrated into the fitting rather than supplied as separate replaceable bulbs, so the light source is fixed for the working life of the fixture.
