How It Works

Two independent rotary dimmer modules sit behind the plate, each push on/off and turn to dim, wired two way. Both run on standard UK 230 to 240V wiring at 50Hz and dim LED bulbs from 5 to 120W, or incandescent and halogen from 60 to 400W, with electronic soft start easing each circuit on rather than snapping it to full brightness.

Where It Works Best

A 2G plate suits any spot with two genuinely separate circuits on one wall, a bedroom with a pendant and a reading lamp circuit, or a living room with ceiling spots and a lamp circuit. For a single circuit, the 1G version is the simpler fit; for three or four, the 3G and 4G plates keep the same solid brass build without cramming extra unused knobs onto a two gang face.

Before there was a company, there was a garage in Shoreditch where Massimo Buster Minale built and rewired motorbikes by hand, machining the parts he couldn't buy to the standard he wanted. He'd spent his working life as an architect up to that point, at practices including Richard Rogers, and in 2013 he turned that same insistence on doing the part properly toward the switches and sockets on the wall, starting with fittings most houses never think twice about.
