Solid Copper Louvre Light for Mains Circuits

Hunza's Floor Light Louvre GU10 puts a solid copper flange with 45 degree angle cuts into your paving or planting. It is an uplighter with an extremely low profile that can be walked on without damaging the luminaire. This GU10 version runs on the mains and does not need a driver, and the mounting canister is included.

Why Copper Looks Different Each Year

Hunza machines the body from 110 copper alloy, a high purity copper with a minimum copper content of 99.9 percent. Solid copper is a natural finish. When it is new it is bright and warm, and with time outdoors it patinas, deepening to brown and then a soft green. Hunza says this patina acts as a protective layer that slows further corrosion, so the fitting is designed to be left to do this. Copper is also a soft metal, and Hunza notes it is not suitable for drive over applications. If you would rather keep a constant brushed look, the louvre also comes in stainless steel.

• This mains version has no driver or transformer.
• Solid copper patinas outdoors. This is normal and not a fault.
• Do not pressure wash the fitting.
• Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting is installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Why does the flange look angled?
It is a louvre flange, which has 45 degree angle cuts.

Will it need a driver?
No. It is a mains fitting and requires no driver.

Does the colour stay the same?
No. Solid copper is designed to patina, from bright copper to brown and then a soft green, and Hunza says the patina helps protect the metal.

Can I drive over it?
No. Hunza notes that copper is a soft metal and is not suitable for drive over applications. It is intended to be walked on.

Is a GU10 lamp provided?
No. It must be bought separately, and a Hunza approved LED keeps the IP rating and warranty valid.
