The deep, matte authority of the black clay finish is applied by hand at Mullan Village, County Monaghan, and fired on site, preserving the natural surface texture and variation of the clay. At 40cm tall and 28cm wide it has a proper statement presence on a sideboard, console or side table. The three G9 bulbs sit within the ceramic body, creating a warm, layered glow that fills the room around it.

How It Works

Three G9 bulbs sit within the ceramic body, creating a warm ambient glow that emanates from within the shade. The triple bulb configuration produces a noticeably richer, more layered quality of light than a single bulb table lamp. All three bulbs should be the same type and wattage. A matched set of warm white dimmable G9 LEDs is recommended.

Where It Works Best

The Black Clay Seville Table Lamp suits sideboards, console tables, generous bedside tables and surfaces in open plan living rooms where a lamp of genuine decorative presence is wanted. The deep black clay finish pairs particularly well with antique brass, aged timber, dark stone and warm woven textiles.

The Story Behind Mullan

Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. The black clay finish draws from the iron rich soils and ancient bog landscapes of that part of Ireland. Over 100 craftspeople work at the studio and every piece is made to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass.

Good to Know

Made to order in Mullan Village, Ireland.
