At just 12cm wide it has a more architectural, sculptural character on a ceiling than broader fitting forms, and the blue earth colour adds a note of natural warmth and depth that makes it genuinely interesting from below. The colour is applied by hand at Mullan Village before firing, building up differently across every individual piece. In natural daylight the blue earth reads as cool and aquatic. With a warm E27 bulb in the evening the deeper blues and greens within the glaze come forward.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eHow It Works\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe open ceramic shade faces downward, directing the E27 bulb's light into the room. The 12cm diameter concentrates the light into a relatively focused pool below, making it well suited to smaller rooms, corridors or as a grouping.
