At 20cm tall and 20cm wide it has a sculptural presence on the bathroom ceiling that is genuinely unusual for an IP rated fitting. The swirling tones of cream, warm grey and natural stone are applied individually at Mullan Village before firing. No two pieces carry an identical pattern, which means every Kingii Marbled that leaves the studio is, in the truest sense, one of a kind.

How It Works

Supplied with a glass diffuser for wet environment compliance. The E27 bulb sits within the shade, the glass diffuser softening and diffusing the light downward and outward into the bathroom. The marbled ceramic body sits above, the tones shifting as the quality of light around it changes through the day. A warm white dimmable E27 LED suits the marbled finish well in a bathroom setting, the ceramic tones revealing their layered depth at lower evening light levels.

Where It Works Best

Above a freestanding bath the Marbled Kingii creates a focal point of genuine luxury and considered design. In a shower room, wet room or humid bathroom it brings the timeless quality of marbled natural stone to a practical space. The marbled finish pairs across a very wide range of interior styles and pairs well with natural stone, polished plaster, white tiles and both warm and cool metal hardware.

The Story Behind Mullan

Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. Ceramicist Stephen Kieran developed the marbling technique by drawing on the layered stone and mineral textures of the Irish landscape surrounding the village. Over 100 craftspeople work at the studio and every piece is made to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass.

Good to Know

Made to order in Mullan Village, Ireland.
