The colour is applied by hand at Mullan Village before firing, building up differently across every individual shade. In natural daylight the blue earth reads as cool and aquatic. Without a glass shade the blue earth ceramic does all the visual work, the colour shifting as the quality of light around it changes through the day. The 37cm diameter creates a broad spread of warm light below the pendant, well suited to larger surfaces and open plan spaces.
